The short answer
You can get free condoms in Ireland by post from three organisations named by the HSE, or by collecting them in person from public sexual health services, community organisations, LGBTQ+ venues and third-level student services. The HSE states that the postal services are for people aged 17 or older.
STI.ie does not supply condoms and does not take delivery details. You order from the provider, on their own form.
Order from a provider
Three organisations are named by the HSE as offering free condoms by post. Each one runs its own service with its own form and its own rules — check theirs before ordering.
The Sexual Health Centre
Based in Cork · describes nationwide delivery
Offers free condoms and lubricant ordered from its own website. Age rules, quantities and packaging are not stated on the service page we checked — read the provider's own terms before ordering.
Sexual Health West
Based in Galway
Free condoms and lubricant by post. The provider states the service is for people aged 17 and older, that orders arrive within 5 working days of order and confirmation, that packaging is plain and discreet, and that staff phone to confirm details before sending. It also states the condoms supplied are not latex free.
GOSHH
Based in Limerick
Free condom postal service, ordered through a form on the GOSHH page. The provider states it is for people over the age of 17, that packages contain 6 condoms in your chosen size with lubricant sachets available as an add-on, and that items should arrive within 5 working days. Specialist items are arranged by contacting GOSHH directly.
Each of these forms asks for the delivery details the provider needs to post to you. Read what a provider says about its own packaging and contact before ordering — those promises belong to that service and do not carry over from any other.
Collect locally
The HSE also lists free condoms available in person. Where and when depends entirely on the individual service, so contact it before travelling.
- Public sexual health services. Your local HSE sexual health clinic — find the clinic listed for your county.
- Community organisations. The HSE names HIV Ireland in Dublin 7, The Sexual Health Centre in Cork, GOSHH in Limerick and Sexual Health West in Galway.
- LGBTQ+ spaces. The HSE names Outhouse LGBT Community Centre in Dublin 1, PantiBar in Dublin 1 and The George in Dublin 2.
- Third-level student services. The HSE advises students to contact their students' union office or student health centre.
Practical questions
Do I have to pay anything?
No. Every service on this page is described by its provider as free, including postage.
Is there an age rule?
The HSE states you must be aged 17 or older for the postal services. Sexual Health West and GOSHH both state 17+ on their own pages. Collection points set their own rules.
What will the package look like?
Sexual Health West describes plain, discreet packaging. The other providers do not state their packaging on the pages we checked — ask them if it matters to you. Do not assume one service's packaging promise applies to another.
What if I need latex-free condoms?
Sexual Health West states its condoms are not latex free. Contact the provider directly about alternatives before ordering.
Does this get me an STI test too?
No — they are separate services. Free home STI testing is provided by SH:24 and ordered separately.
Also free in Ireland
The free test is ordered from SH:24, who run it with the HSE. Free if you're 17 or over and live in the Republic of Ireland. In Northern Ireland?
